Dysfunctional Thyroid Sufferers, The Promise Of A New Day Is Finally Here

For such a tiny gland it plays a very huge roll in the body. Thyroid is Greek for shield, after the shape of the cartilage. This particular gland regulates how rapidly the body uses energy, produces proteins, and influences the sensitivity the body should be to the other hormones. It generates thyroid hormones, with the principal ones being triiodothyronine and thyroxine, T3 and T4 respectively. This hormonal output gets regulated by a thyroid-stimulating hormone produced by the anterior pituitary, and this in itself is by the hypothalamus.

Put simply, Hypothyroidism is what happens when the thyroid fails to produce the right amount of thyroid hormone, which is responsible for the activation of every single cell in the body. That is why the lack of this hormone will be the reason for so many problems that people are experiencing. So if the thyroid hormone is at a low level then the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Test or TSH for short, will be at a high level and that is what meets the specifications of hypothroidism.

Your thyroid is composed of spherical shape follicles that are selective in how they absorb iodine from your blood with the purpose of producing thyroid hormones. But it also stores it in the thyroglobulin. Iodine is necessary in other important organs such as the stomach, thymus, breast and salivary glands, to name a few. Please be aware that cancers can occur in the thyroid gland and seem to be more common in females. It will appear as a painless lump in the neck. It can be diagnosis by using a needle biopsy.

One good thing is that the majority of these thyroid lumps are benign or non-cancerous. These problems with your thyroid can be so devastating. But what is worse is when you know there is something wrong and your doctor is telling you that all your tests look normal. That is why this project is so important. It is a place for you to finally turn things around.

If you feel like you or someone you know is having problems with your thyroid gland, please consult a medical doctor as soon as possible and have it checked out. The thyroid gland effects your entire body, including hormones and organs and the result of a dysfunctional thyroid gland could be serious and it needs to be addressed before permanent damage sets in. Go get treated today, your life will change, your body will change, your mind will change.  You deserve the best, now go get it.

I was diagnosed 19 years ago with Hypothyroidism and I have been on synthroid ever since. I will be 28 next month. About 5 years ago I convinced a doctor to do an ultrasound and they said that my thyroid has begun to calcify. If it too late for change. even when they “regulate” my hormone levels I feel like crap. At my age I should be on top of the world! I cannot remember a day of not feeling exhausted or brushing clumps of hair away. I would not say I am depressed. I am 5’2 and 210lbs (last time I weighed). They always say cold intolerant but I am the opposite. The heat kills me! I live just outside of Orlando in Tavares. Do you accept patients in this area? Do you take Insurance or is it out of pocket cost? Thank you.

I am just about to give up on persuading a doctor to do advanced tests for hypothyroidism. I have just about every symptom of this condition which has been publicised. Blood tests say that the thyroid readings are normal, but for some years now I have had no energy, I am constantly tired. If I sit down during the day, I fall asleep. The medics decided that I was suffering from polymyalgia rheumatica because of the constant pain in my limbs. I reluctantly started on a course of steroids which made me feel better initially, at least the pains were more bearable. However I have been weaned off the steroids and I feel worse than ever. I cannot rise from an armchair without support amd walk like a zombie until my legs sort themselves out.
    I fall down quite frequently,
having dreadful balance, so far I’ve only broken a couple of ribs when I fall. The latest tumble was yesterday when I fell – fortunately on carpet when carrying a bowl of soup. I was unharmed but I’m still trying to repair the damage caused by soup on the floor, the wall, the carpet and a bowl of flowers which got in the way.
The most upsetting thing of all is weight gain. I eat quite sparingly. I don’t have much of an appetite for cooked meals and tend to graze, which I know is not healthy or helpful, but I just can’t face traditional food for lunch/dinner.
I’d really like to correspond with someone who has the same problems.

Thanks for reading my tale of woe.
